The large-capacity adventure bike market continues to grow, and the arrival of the Moto Morini X-Cape 1200 adds another option to the mix—this time from a brand with Italian roots but a focus on competitive pricing.
Now available in UK dealerships, the X-Cape 1200 sits at the more affordable end of the litre-plus adventure segment, while still offering the kind of specification typically associated with more expensive machines.
Powering the bike is Moto Morini’s 1,187cc V-twin engine, producing 129hp and 106Nm of torque. It’s a liquid-cooled, Euro 5+ compliant unit paired with a six-speed gearbox, complete with a standard quickshifter and slipper clutch.
As with most bikes in this category, multiple riding modes are included, allowing the throttle response to be adjusted depending on conditions or rider preference.
A V-TWIN engine is a nice change from all the Parrallel twins and with 129bhp its a healthy power too!
The X-Cape 1200 uses a mixed aluminium and steel frame, combined with fully adjustable KYB suspension at both ends, offering 180mm of travel. This setup reflects its intended use as a versatile machine capable of handling both road riding and light off-road conditions.
Braking is handled by a Brembo system, with twin front discs and a single rear, supported by Bosch cornering ABS. The ABS system can be adjusted or disabled at the rear for off-road use.
The bike runs on a 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheel combination, fitted with Pirelli Scorpion Trail 3 tyres, a common choice for bikes designed to cover mixed terrain.
In terms of electronics, the X-Cape 1200 includes a 7-inch TFT display with integrated navigation and Bluetooth connectivity. Standard rider aids include traction control, tyre pressure monitoring, and cruise control.
One of the more notable additions is a rear radar system, which provides blind spot monitoring and rear collision alerts—features that are becoming more common in this segment but are still not universal.
A front-facing dash camera is also included as standard, offering built-in recording capability without the need for aftermarket solutions.
The bike is equipped with a range of features aimed at everyday usability and longer-distance riding. Heated grips and heated seats for both rider and passenger are included, along with an adjustable windscreen and centre stand.
With a seat height of 840mm and a 24.5-litre fuel tank, it’s designed to balance accessibility with long-range capability. Dry weight is listed at 259kg, which is in line with other bikes in the same class.
An optional three-piece aluminium luggage system is available for those intending to use it for touring.
The Moto Morini X-Cape 1200 is priced at £11,299 (+OTR) and is available in three colours: Arctic White, Energy Red, and Viper Black.
Rather than trying to redefine the category, the X-Cape 1200 appears to focus on offering a broad spread of features and performance at a more accessible price point.
For riders considering a large adventure bike, it adds another option to a segment that is already highly competitive—particularly for those looking beyond the more established brands.
